Recognizing the significant impact of the mining industry on the environment and communities, we go beyond adhering to local laws and regulations, striving to exceed them by implementing internationally accepted standards wherever possible.
Our process evaluates and scores investments across sustainability criteria. We require miners receiving funding to maintain and improve these scores over the long term, ensuring accountability and measurable progress.

Our Corporate Social Responsibility
We collaborate with charities and organizations in the countries where we operate to mitigate the devastating effects of illegal mining activities on communities. These efforts align with global expectations for ethical and responsible resource management, addressing critical issues that threaten the environment, community health, and the well-being of vulnerable populations.
Environmental Destruction
Unregulated mining causes deforestation, soil erosion, and water pollution, severely impacting ecosystems and biodiversity. Responsible resource management demands minimizing these harms through sustainable practices and rigorous oversight.
Health Hazards
The widespread use of toxic substances, such as mercury in gold extraction, jeopardizes community health. We support initiatives aimed at reducing reliance on harmful chemicals and promoting safer alternatives.
Child Labour
The exploitation of children in hazardous mining operations deprives them of education and exposes them to life-threatening dangers. We work to support programs that prioritize child protection and access to education.
Social Issues
Illegal mines often serve as hubs for activities like human trafficking, drug trade, and exploitation. Addressing these challenges requires collective action, including empowering local communities and enforcing ethical practices across the supply chain.

Ending child labor in Galamsey mining—protecting Ghana's children for a brighter future.
Since 2023, AlphaStream has been a proud partner of OAfrica,a leading Ghanaian child-rights charity. Through our partnership we discovered that children as young as six were working at mining sites, often for up to eight hours a day, exposed to mercury, dangerous conditions and serious injuries.
Our ongoing contributions aid OAfrica in executing the #EndChildLabourInGalamsey Project, a vital initiative addressing the devastating impact of illegal mining on children. Together, we are helping to protect vulnerable children, preserve the environment, and support sustainable community development.
In 2026 alone, 121 children received support through comprehensive interventions, and 117 returned to school, while 81 families received support to build alternative livelihoods.
Key Objectives of the Program:
Raise Awareness
Educating communities about the severe health risks, including mercury poisoning, faced by an estimated 10,000 children involved in Galamsey mining, and its long-term impact on children’s development. In 2026, 1,401 children across eight schools received child labour prevention education and more than 6,000 community members were reached through radio advocacy.
Community Empowerment
Supporting local communities in taking collective action to resist Galamsey activities, fostering safer and healthier environments for children and families. In 2026 and 2025, 270 child protection committee members were trained across 13 communities.
Advocate for Stricter Regulations
Through our partnership with OAfrica, we are helping to protect vulnerable children, preserve the environment, and support sustainable community development.
