Our approach
We are committed to environmental, social and corporate governance when investing.
Our sustainability philosophy is to create positive impact whenever and where ever we can. Part of our critera in the investment process is a sustainability assessment.
We recognise that the mining industry has a high impact on the world around us. So, we strive to adhere to all local laws and regulations and set a higher internationally acceptable bar where ever appropriate.
Our investment process gives consideration to the evaluation, and scoring of each investment across a range of sustainability criteria. Our funding will require a long-term commitment from the miner to maintain a certain sustainability score for these criteria.

Our Corporate Social Responsibility
At AlphaStream, our commitment to sustainability and corporate social responsibility extends beyond our operations. We are working with charities on the ground in the countries in which we operate to address the profound impact that illegal mining activities has on communities. These practices not only harm the environment but also jeopardize the health and future of countless children and young people.
Environmental Destruction
Unregulated mining leads to deforestation, soil erosion, and water pollution, devastating ecosystems.
Health Hazards
The use of mercury in gold extraction exposes individuals to toxic substances, causing irreversible damage to the central nervous system.
Child Labour
Children as young as nine are drawn into these mining activities, depriving them of education and exposing them to dangerous conditions.
Social Issues
These mines become hotspots for illegal activities, including drug trafficking, human trafficking, and exploitation.
Our Commitment
Ending child labor in Galamsey mining—protecting Ghana's children for a brighter future.
AlphaStream collaborated with OAfrica, a well-respected Ghanaian charity that empowers children and young adults in need of care and protection. Through this project, we aim to bring the documented impact of Galamsey on children to the attention of the general public via the #EndChildLabourInGalamsey Program.
The #EndChildLabourInGalamsey Program objectives are:
Raise Awareness
With an estimated 20,000 to 50,000 individuals involved in Galamsey, we strive to educate the public about the severe health risks, especially mercury poisoning, and the detrimental impact on children’s development.
Advocate for Stricter Regulations
We are pushing for the implementation of stringent laws to reduce mercury usage in mining operations, ensuring the protection of children and the environment.
Community Empowerment
By empowering local communities, we encourage collective action to resist Galamsey activities, fostering safer and healthier environments for children.
