Our approach
We are committed to embedding environmental, social, and corporate governance principles into every investment decision
Our sustainability philosophy focuses on creating meaningful and lasting positive impacts. As part of our investment process, we conduct a comprehensive sustainability assessment for each opportunity.
Recognizing the significant impact of the mining industry on the environment and communities, we go beyond adhering to local laws and regulations, striving to exceed them by implementing internationally accepted standards wherever possible.
Our process evaluates and scores investments across sustainability criteria. We require miners receiving funding to maintain and improve these scores over the long term, ensuring accountability and measurable progress.

Our Corporate Social Responsibility
We collaborate with charities and organizations in the countries where we operate to mitigate the devastating effects of illegal mining activities on communities. These efforts align with global expectations for ethical and responsible resource management, addressing critical issues that threaten the environment, community health, and the well-being of vulnerable populations.
Environmental Destruction
Unregulated mining causes deforestation, soil erosion, and water pollution, severely impacting ecosystems and biodiversity. Responsible resource management demands minimizing these harms through sustainable practices and rigorous oversight.
Health Hazards
The widespread use of toxic substances, such as mercury in gold extraction, jeopardizes community health. We support initiatives aimed at reducing reliance on harmful chemicals and promoting safer alternatives.
Child Labour
The exploitation of children in hazardous mining operations deprives them of education and exposes them to life-threatening dangers. We work to support programs that prioritize child protection and access to education.
Social Issues
Illegal mines often serve as hubs for activities like human trafficking, drug trade, and exploitation. Addressing these challenges requires collective action, including empowering local communities and enforcing ethical practices across the supply chain.
Our commitment
Ending child labor in Galamsey mining—protecting Ghana's children for a brighter future.
AlphaStream is proud to have partnered with OAfrica, a leading Ghanaian charity, through ongoing donations and funding. OAfrica empowers children and young adults in need of care and protection because of institutionalization, abandonment, neglect, disability or abuse to become productive members of the community.
Our on-going contributions aid OAfrica in executing the #EndChildLabourInGalamsey Program, a vital initiative addressing the devastating impact of illegal mining on children.
Key Objectives of the Program:
Raise Awareness
Educating communities about the estimated 20,000 to 50,000 individuals involved in Galamsey mining, emphasizing the severe health risks, including mercury poisoning, and its long-term impact on children’s development.
Advocate for Stricter Regulations
Promoting the implementation of stronger laws to reduce mercury usage in mining operations, safeguarding children and the environment.
Community Empowerment
Supporting local communities in taking collective action to resist Galamsey activities, fostering safer and healthier environments for children and families.
Through our partnership with OAfrica, we are helping to protect vulnerable children, preserve the environment, and support sustainable community development.
